| Enhancing Your Career in the 21st Century
One and one-half day format for managers and lawyers of color and white woman regarding successfully steering or negotiating their careers through the organizational maze which was not created with their best interests in mind.
Includes:
- overview of organizational challenges and frustrations and how best to cope with and overcome them;
- learning about the "mind-set of entitlement," or how to take responsibility for ones own success and get more from ones assets;
- learn to more effectively manage ones emotions within an environment in which one often feels "assaulted" on a frequent basis regarding ones status as "different";
- learn to more successfully compete within the organization for opportunities and resources which allow one to better contribute to the organizations success;
- learn to better balance ones professional and personal life to get more synergy from both.
What makes this workshop more appropriate for professionals of color and white women than most career development workshops is that most do not take race and/or gender into account at all or they overplay these characteristics. Our workshop puts race and gender into its proper perspective and realistically and operationally show how their negative impacts can be mitigated and in many cases overcome.
(This workshop is most often offered as an event open to the public, frequently co-sponsored by CCC and a local Bar Association or a consortium of law firms. This is because rarely does a single firm have enough attorneys of color and/or white women to make up a class of twenty or more participants to do the program in-house.)
Each of the above training programs are adaptable to specific client needs and preferences. Also, CCC offers novel and first-time workshops that are deemed best suited for a particular clients needs at a given time. These unique events or programs are developed in close consultation with the client. |
